The Saga of Coppins Crossing

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Once more Coppins Crossing was closed to traffic last week.  It may be closed again with rain forecast this week.

Thanks to John Mungoven, a Member of the Weston Creek Community, we have a number of photos which show the debris and the height of the floodwaters over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of August.

This really shows why the high level bridge needs to be brought forward to connect north and south Molonglo as well as to provide another safe road to cross the Molonglo River.

The road open again

  1. I wonder whether the existing bridge will be retained once the new bridge is built? The cleanup costs will continue after each flood if the existing bridge is retained.

  2. Does anyone know much this clean up cost? And the replacement of streetlights, signs and railing?
