Advice from the ACT Government is that work should start on Stage One of the Heysen Street bike path to Woden in the last quarter of this year. This is welcomed.
Also announced yesterday was Stage Two to take the bike path to the Lyons Shops and Melrose Drive. This Stage is subject to part funding from the Commonwealth Government
So is it happening?.
Yes it is happening though it has been delayed because the broad community of Council, Pedal Power and the Equestrian Association all wanted the route to be moved behind the Electricity Sub-Station.
This has now been agreed, I understand, and Tenders are expected later this year or early next year.
