Council has received the following email (including link) from the National Capital Authority about Works Approval for the proposed Aged Care/ Seniors Living Facility on Cotter Road. While Council did not oppose the development, noting the need for quality aged care/seniors living, it made some suggestions that would enhance the development. These suggestions included commentary about the traffic at the proposed driveway entrance at busy times, and the lack of public transport connectivity. Our suggestions have not been accepted.
We hope the new Federal Government is able to see the wisdom in improving the NCA’s capacity to consult and engage with local communities as a future development is being scoped. Council will be engaging with our local MP, The Hon Mr David Smith, about these concerns.
