Following a representation by a WCCC committee member we have received a reply by the Chief Minister which provides an update on some of the important activities in and around Weston Creek. The Chief Minister advised that:
- Planning and development at Molonglo Valley is proceeding with some major road upgrades programmed;
- Public transport improvements are been considered for the next budget;
- Additional peak hour bus services are planned to provide more choice;
- Plans are underway to increase Expresso bus services between Weston Creek and the City to four, including a direct Expresso from Cooleman Court to the city;
- North Weston Ponds is now scheduled for completion in April 2013;
- Work on the Cotter Road/Kirkpatrick Street intersection is scheduled for completion in December 2012;
- In some cases, where road resurfacing using chip seal has been identified as defective the contractor will rectify the defective areas at not cost to the government’ and
- Landscaping on the Cotter Road re-alignment is scheduled for autumn 2013.
