Council welcomes the announcement yesterday by the Minister for health, Meegan Fitzharris MLA that there will be a new Walk-in Centre in Weston Creek in the Living Health Centre adjacent to Cooleman Court. The announcement said that ACT Health is set to invest $4.6 million for a Walk-in Centre for Weston Creek and Molonglo Valley locals. It will provide an alternative health service for people with minor injuries or illnesses to receive free treatment closer to their homes.
The Weston Creek Walk-in Centre will add to a network of Centres being developed across Canberra. This includes the two existing Centres in Belconnen and Tuggeranong, the Gungahlin Walk-in Centre, which is due to open next month, and the additional Centre being planned for the inner north.
