Parkrun is coming to Weston Creek and Molonglo!! Interested in running, jogging or walking then this may be of interest. In response to demand from people living in Weston Creek and Molonglo, and with the endorsement of the ACT Government, parkrun will introduce a new event in Coombs from 17 March 2018.
Starting from the end of Kirkpatrick Street, the Coombs parkrun course circles Weston Pond, before doubling back alongside Weston Creek, and then turning left to follow the Molonglo River. Participants turn around at the 2.5km point (at the the intersection of Buttfield Avenue and Annabelle View) and return to Kirkpatrick Street following the course in reverse. A map showing the course – including participant parking and the start/finish area – is attached.
Parkrun Coombs will commence at 8am each Saturday, with most participants expected to have completed the event by 9.15am.
The Organisers encourage participants to go for a coffee at a local cafe after the event – given we’re still waiting for Coombs to have a shopping centre, we’ll rely on the mobile coffee van that parks down at the Weston pond.
