The name Fetherston Ridge was chosen to complement the neighbouring Fetherston Gardens and to honour their founder, Tony Fetherston and the contributions he made to the Canberra community as an educator and a pioneer of horticulture.
Tony Fetherston also served in the Royal Australian Air Force from 1934 – 1944.
