The Community Council model of consultation between Government and the nine ACT Districts is clearly broken and should either be reformed or replaced.
It is clear to the Council Committee, that the ACT Government appears to merely suffer the Community Councils’ best efforts to provide a local and balanced view into their decision making.

Council has lodged its submission to the ACT Government’s Budget process for 2023-24. The submission was prepared taking into account feedback we have received from the Weston Creek Community since the last Budget was announced. While recognising funding is likely to be constrained this year, the Government still needs to invest wisely for the community benefit.
