The Public Housing Renewal Taskforce is holding consultation sessions for proposed public housing developments in Chapman, Holder and Wright.
The Taskforce is determined to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to learn about the proposed developments – whether they are residents of the suburb who want know more about public housing, people who support the developments or neighbours who want to comment on the proposals.
To see what is proposed for each suburb follow these links:
The consultation sessions will be held at the Weston Creek Community Centre on Saturday 8 April 2017 between 11:00am and 2:00pm.
To register your interest and secure a time slot please go to Consultation Sessions.
Due to space and capacity limitations, attendance will be limited to those who have registered through the ACT Govt website. If there is additional interest the Taskforce will arrange more sessions.

The scope of these “consultation” sessions doesn’t sound like consultation to me. Consultation is listening, not preaching. The task force agenda consists of “an opportunity to learn about the proposed developments” – we don’t need to be taught, we already know what has been planned. This statement is also arrogant and reflects the governments view of our electorate.
“whether they are residents of the suburb who want know more about public housing, people who support the developments or neighbours who want to comment on the proposals.” so the task force has already closed their ears to concerns, objections and issues. It seems to be they only wish to preach to the choir.
