The the contract has recently been awarded for the John Gorton Drive 3A works. These include:
- Upgrading the first 900 metres of Coppins Crossing Road south of William Hovell Drive to a dual carriageway.
- The construction of two signalised intersections.
The first, William Hovell Drive/John Gorton Drive (currently Coppins Crossing Road) will include additional lanes and signals.
The second intersection is off John Gorton Drive to provide access to Whitlam to the west, and to a future collector road to the east.
The road project will also incorporate a 600mm diameter watermain that will supply all Molonglo 3.
Works on site are due to start in early in the second half 2017.
Any traffic impacts during work will be notified via electronic variable message signs.
