Enough Shops – a letter from an MLA following concerns expressed by residents

Many Weston Creek residents shop at Cooleman Court and have no doubt noticed how busy it has become. We all most likely realize that a proportion of the increase is residents of Coombs and Wright who do not have any local shops.

There are some shops planned for Coombs as part of a hierarchy of community facilities but the construction seems to be very slow. Several residents have approached the emerging community group about this issue. The group has been making representations to the government and spoke to an MLA who in turn has written to Minister Berry about the issue.

This letter is shown below. However in a recent development the fences around the site have been removed which makes the community wonder what is going on. A member of the community group contacted the relevant authority resulting in a visit from Worksafe. It would be nice to know what is going on !
