Community “Walk in the Park”

The Community “Walk in the Park” held on Sunday 21 March 2010 in the CIT Gardens Park, was a great success. Over 50 people attended and spent over an hour becoming acquainted [and in some cases re-acquainted] with the mature trees and open spaces in the new Community Park.

Thanks to Philip Unger for his detailed explanation and talks on the various specimens in the Park, many of which are rare and exotic and in some cases endangered and for the staff of the Chief Minister’s Department and Parks and Gardens who assisted and made the day possible.

Kerstin Linton has agreed to Chair the Council’s Working Group for the new Community Park. We will need a dedicated Group of people to be involved in the initial clean-up and tidying of the Park and then in the on-going management of the Park. If you are interested, please e-mail the Deputy Chair of the Weston Creek Community Council in the first instance, who will put you in contact with Kirsten.
