A reminder that the first meeting for the Weston Creek Community Council for 2011 is to be held next Wednesday 23 February 2011, 7:30pm at the Weston Club,Weston Club, Liardet Street, Weston.
This meeting will feature a representative of the ACT Electoral Commission who will outline the process for a redistribution of the ACT Legislative Assembly’s electoral boundaries that are to be re-examined in preparation for the 20 October 2012 ACT election.
Any interested persons or organisations have until 10 March 2011 to make suggestions to the Redistribution Committee. Those suggestions will then be made available for public comment from 11 March 2011 until 24 March 2011.
After considering the public submissions, the Redistribution Committee will publish a proposed redistribution of the ACT into three electorates. People will then have 28 days in which to object to the proposed boundaries.
