A resident of Waramanga has been working very hard to persuade the government to construct a children’s playground close to Waramanga shops. It is intended that a playground would not only provide somewhere for the growing number of children in the suburb to play but also act as a meeting place for the community.
As the fourth stage of community consultation a Community Block Party was held on the proposed location for the playground. It was a happy event with games for the children and food for everybody including a sausage sizzle. Some people took a picnic and ate whilst their children enjoyed the see saw and cubby house. An enjoyable community activity !
A submission will now be made to government for funds to be made available for the construction of a playground on the site.
