A Disappointing Response from Minister Gentleman on the Coombs Shops

Council has finally received a response to its letter of 11 March. Waiting for over 3 months for a letter that provides no answer to the Coombs Shops debacle really does disappoint. The answer is wait for Koko to open at the end of probably 2021, another 18 months away, and the future Molonglo Group Centre sometime in the future. UPDATE – Tender open for the new Park and Ride parking spaces at Kirkpatrick Street

The Tender was opened today for the building of an additional 46 car parking spaces at the Kirkpatrick Street Park and Ride.  This will bring the toal number of spaces at this site to 95.
Council welcomes these additional spaces.  The Tender closes on the 26th of May so hopefully these will be in place well before the end of the year.

Another Disappointment in Coombs

Here is yet another disappointment for those people living in Coombs.  The ACT Government made a requirement that there be space for a Community Hall in the site sold for a Child Care Centre in Coombs.  However, Council understands that no-one can use it as the area has been offerred for lease at a price which virtually puts all Community Groups out of the market.
