The ACT Government today announced that the temporary Car park proposed for Watling place would not proceed. Council welcomes this decision as the proposed number of car parking spaces was continually reduced to now some 56 spaces which council believes can be found in some adjustment o time limits around Cooleman Court. We look forward to an engaging community consultation process for the upgrade of Brierly Street

Council has lodged a Submission stating that it does not support the proposed Car Park known as the “Watling Place” car park now proposed for 65 parking spaces. Continue reading
Despite Council writing to Minister Steel advising him that the now 65 car park spaces could be found from a review of the current parking in and around Cooleman Court, Government has gone ahead and lodged a Development Application. We would encourage you to lodge comments on this proposal pointing out that there is no need for it now. Continue reading

Council wrote to the CEO, Matt Comyn, expressing its deep disappointment with the closure of the Commonwealth Bank Branch at Weston. A really poor response spending one line addressing the issues that Council raised and then telling people to travel all over Canberra to get to a Branch. Continue reading
